In India, there are three different methods are in practice to complete an Adoption Deed Attestation for overseas. The main process of an India issued Adoption Deed Attestation starts from the state level Attestation like Home Department, General Administrative Department (GAD) or Regional Attestation Centre (RAC) of the respective State or UT where the Adoption Deed has been issued from. The time requirement to complete the state/UT level Attestation are different for different states and UTs.
Apart from the main process, an Adoption Deed Attestation can be completed through alternative methods. Through alternative process, the Adoption Deed Attestation will be done after the Attestation by Sub Divisional Magistrate (SDM), Delhi or the Attestation from Home Department, Mumbai /Mumbai Mantralaya. These Attestation may complete irrespective of issuance States or UTs in India. It will take around two working days to complete a Adoption Deed Attestation through alternative process.

The original Adoption Deed and Passport photocopy (first and last page) of the adopted child and parents are required to complete an India issued Adoption Deed Attestation in India from Home Department or General Administrative Department (GAD) or Regional Attestation Centre (RAC) or Sub Divisional Magistrate (SDM), Delhi. This is also required for Attestation of an Adoption Deed from Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) or even any Embassy Attestation.
